Somehow, it came about that we were discussing Tolstoy’s ultimate philosophical question: “If God does not exist, since death is inevitable, what is the meaning of life?” Because without the answer to this, for Tolstoy, life had become “impossible“.

As such, he turned his back on religious symbolism and embarked on a journey searching for the Jesus GOD has sent – and was subsequently found by Him.

I'm not sure about you, but I confess that I have struggled with the mechanics behind a religious life. Getting up at a certain time and praying mechanical prayers over your family was boring for me - never mind GOD!

When all the time we have the answer to religious behaviour, it is found in John 14:6: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Holy Father, I want to release all my cares and worries into Your Loving care. I want to trust You when You tell me that You will take responsibility for all that You have blessed me with. So, Lord, I lift up my hands topray the most powerful prayer ever — not my will, but Yours be done. Show me, Lord, what's breaking Your heart - what should I pray for today?
