Stay with GOD! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again: Stay with GOD. (Psalm 27:14)

This reminds me of the story of a young lady called Florence Chadwick, who decided to attempt the 26-mile swim between the California coastline and Catalina Island.

During her swim, Chadwick travelled with a team whose job was to keep an eye out for sharks and be prepared to assist in the event of unexpected cramps, injury, or fatigue.

Roughly 15 hours into her swim, a thick fog began to set in, clouding Chadwick’s vision and confidence. Her mother happened to be in one of the boats at the time, constantly shouting encouragements to her, but Chadwick told her team that she didn’t think she could complete the swim as she couldn't 'see' the endpoint.

By all accounts, she dithered around for another hour before finally getting into a boat and calling it quits. As she sat in the teetering boat, the fog lifted, and they discovered if she’d just continued on for another mile, she would have reached Catalina Island.

Don’t quit, Child of the Living GOD; you’re nearly there.
