GOD ’s there, listening for all who pray, for all who pray and mean it. (Psa 145:18)

"... for all who pray and mean it!" I could write tomes on that statement alone ...!

This reminds me of the time Jesus met a man near the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem. Apparently, the man had been an invalid there for thirty-eight years, and Jesus went up and asked him, “Do you want to get well?” (John 5:6)

It's a strange question until you see how the devil would have us accept that our identity is in our 'problem' ... "I'm no good..." "I'm always sick..." "I'm useless..." "I'm addicted to this..." I'm just a ..."

It seems that GOD’s actually listening out for us to be truthful – and for most of us, that is something extremely hard because it begins with first being honest with ourselves - accepting our 'problem' and then turning towards the only One who actually has a viable 'Solution.'

• Lord, help me out of this financial mess - but I don't want to stop buying useless la la because it makes me 'feel better.'

• Lord, help me to stop throwing my hard-earned money on the Lottery because I feel horrible when I gamble (and lose) - but if you bless me to win, then that's OK as I actually enjoy the thrill of gambling when I win!

• Lord, I want to lose weight - but can this be done supernaturally so that I can still eat these delicious chocolates (and you know that I don't want to exercise because I look and feel stupid in lycra)!

• Etc, etc, etc...

Lord, please help me to be honest with myself before I open my mouth before You. Amen.
