If we boast that we have no sin, we’re only fooling ourselves and are strangers to the truth. But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time.

God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we claim that we’re not guilty of sin when God uncovers it with his light, we make him a liar and his word is not in us. (‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:8)

Think of this as ground coffee (or loose tea leaves) - your drink always looks good as it sits peacefully in the cup until you give it a stir. Then all the coffee grounds (or tea leaves) rise up to the surface, and everything gets messy and undrinkable.

Our lives can be just the same. On the surface, everything looks fine, but underneath, there are the unseen (but never forgotten), myriads of unresolved issues which, when left to fester, will become a cancer that plagues our very souls - as well as the lives of those we love.

Don't stress, though - GOD knows the best time to sort things out, so begin by acknowledging your need and just leave it for Him to deal with it, and when He decides it's time to ‘stir things up’, then let Him.

REMEMBER - it’s not for His benefit (He knew they were there all the time); it’s for OURS and those we love who live around us!
