GOD commanded the Man, “You can eat from any tree in the garden, except from the Tree-of-Knowledge-of-Good-and-Evil. Don’t eat from it. The moment you eat from that tree, you’re dead.” (Gen 2:16)
In its simplest form, sin is just missing the mark you were created to achieve that has been set by GOD long before you were even born.
Keep in mind that sin’s fundamental purpose is to draw us away from a loving relationship with our Heavenly Father, and once separated, it will continually try and convince us that we are useless, even an abomination to GOD and that we can never achieve this union.
GOD (in Christ) laughs in the face of these scheming lies though. He breaks through these deceptions and (continually) comes to our lives as our Redeemer and Saviour. He transforms all that we were becoming back into the true ‘who’ that we are!
(Jesus speaking) “My own sheep will hear my voice and I know each one, and they will follow me. I give to them the gift of eternal life and they will never be lost and no one has the power to snatch them out of my hands. My Father, who has given them to me as his gift, is the mightiest of all, and no one has the power to snatch them from my Father’s care. The Father and I are one.” (John 10:27)
