Yesterday's message drew a little flack, not quite on the level of Ricky Gervais or Stephen Fry, but enough for me to keep in mind a poem I once heard ...
As children bring their broken toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to GOD because he is my Friend.
But then, instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone,
I hung around,
And tried to help,
With ways that were 'my own’!
At last, I snatched them back and cried
“How can You be so slow?”
“My Child,” He said, “What could I do?"
"You never did let go!”
What does it mean to "Let go - let GOD?" Even Google tells us that to “let go and let GOD” means we surrender and submit our lives to GOD and, in trust, let Him direct our paths. We need to let go of the steering wheel of whatever car we are driving (worry, pride, fear, doubt and anything we have taken control over…) and trust that His driving and His routes are best.
