I don't know about you, but patience just isn’t one of my strong points. So, when I want something to happen – I expect it to happen immediately.

Having said all that, I remember reading how John G Lake (an already famous healer for GOD in the States) was taught the power of patient prayer while he visited a small out-of-the-way village on an African trip.

Apparently, a small child had died in an accident and had broken their neck.

John was given the small child to hold by the village pastor and the pastor watched as John prayed for just a few seconds but when he couldn't see any immediate signs of life John sheepishly gave the child back to the pastor. The pastor was shocked, and roundly rebuked John for his lack of faith!

He told him, "Go away from me John, I don't want any unbelief around me while I pray ...!" The pastor continued holding and praying for another 24 hours until he could give the child back to his mother - fully restored back to life!

Lord, I read this and feel ashamed - help me to trust You enough to Honour You ...
