God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart. Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden within me.
Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares. See if there is any path of pain I’m walking on, and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting ways— the path that brings me back to you. (Psa 139:23)
Praying this prayer is probably one of the hardest requests to make. It’s tantamount to asking someone to dig a splinter from a black and septic finger – and then, when the pain begins to burn, we shout stop and run away screaming!
Lord GOD, you wouldn’t have put this request into the Bible if it was impossible for us to achieve... I want you to go ahead with your searching gaze into my heart. Please help me through each painful stage and set me FREE! Amen.
